A soft yet fruit driven wine. Glistening ruby in colour with a persistent, typical bouquet of wood, bramble and stone fruits, and pleasant spice scent. Medium bodied with subtle tannins, its aroma of black and purple fruits is charming and soft, but at the same time full and complex. Just lovely!

Country: Italy

Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot

Non Vintage

ABV: 13%

Bottle equivalent £5.10

What the producer says:

The Vintage:

In contrast to vintage, non-vintage wines are not about expressing the conditions of a particular growing year: non-vintage wines are about expressing consistency of style and taste. Blending wines from different vintages enables the winemaker to ensure that the house style stays the same, year-in and year-out. Some winemakers argue that producing non-vintage wines allows for the winemaker to take what is best from every vintage and build upon their strengths and be more creative. While non-vintage wines were classically used to make Champagne, and fortified wines, they are also used to make modern drinking and table wines.

The Vineyard:

Region: Veneto, Italy
Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

The Wine:

Harvest: Machine harvesting in the cool, early morning
Maceration: Skin-contact maceration for several hours, depending on ripeness
Fermentation: controlled temperature fermentation at 26-28 degree
Ageing: Ageing in thermo-regulated stainless-steel vats
