What the producer says:
“Classic Côtes du Rhône. Fruity and fleshy with beautiful tannins, it’s a great everyday wine made almost exclusively from our Grand Prébois vineyards (for the Grenache) and our Vinsobres vineyards (for the Syrah). A beautiful wine you should always have on your list.
Vintage:
2015 was a magnificent year in the south as well, characterized by excellent sanitary conditions thanks to the mild, wet winter, followed by a relatively hot, dry spring. The vines coped well with the extreme heat and lack of rain in the summer thanks to good hydric reserves. Following satisfactory flowering, rapid and regular ripening was assisted by rain that fell in August, producing berries rich in phenolic compounds and anthocyanins. As in the north, harvesting took place under excellent conditions.
Location:
This wine is a blend of Grenache (mainly from our Prébois vineyard in Orange), Syrah from further north (from our vineyard in Vinsobres) and Mourvèdre.
Terrior:
The vineyard of Prébois has clayey limestone soils covered with stones. In Vinsobres the terraces are rich in quartz and marl limestone.
Process:
After the harvest is sorted and destemmed, vinification takes place in stainless steel and oak. Ageing occurs in tanks and Foudre 25% of the year.
Tasting:
The Reserve in 2015 shows lots of fruit, good freshness and character. The Grenache/Syrah/Mourvèdre triumvite blends perfectly. Pretty aromas of red and black fruit, good aromatic intensity, the mouth is fresh and generous. Silky tannins accompany a long aromatic finish.
Food Pairing:
Wonderful with Lamb, Cassoulet and pretty much any red meat dish
Reviews:
Restaurant Wine: 4*
Excellent: fruity, full bodied, and well balanced; a wine with spicy-fruity aromas/flavors (plum, pepper, red currant), and a long, lightly tannic finish. Very fine value.
